Dr. Gifford Howarth is associate professor of percussion at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. He previously taught at Michigan State University and Nazareth College in New York. Dr.Howarthhas received degrees from Michigan State University (DMA), Kent State University (MM) and Ithaca College (BM). He has presented clinics and workshops throughout the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe. He has also presented at The Midwest Clinic, The Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), several MENC (the former name for the National Association for Music Education) All-State Conferences and PAS Day of Percussion events. Howarth, a Yamaha Performing Artist, focuses most of his workshops around percussion education.
